How does TCA peeling work?
A TCA peel causes targeted exfoliation of the top layers of the skin to stimulate skin renewal. The trichloroacetic acid penetrates the skin, destroys certain protein structures and thus triggers a natural regeneration process. Old skin cells are shed and replaced by new, healthy cells.
Depending on the concentration of the acid, the peeling can have different depths of effect.
While a superficial peeling with a low concentration of around 10 % treats fine lines and slight pigmentation disorders, a medium-deep or deep peeling with up to 35 % can also improve deeper wrinkles, pronounced scars or severe sun damage.
