Allergies, a widespread disease

The number of allergy sufferers has risen sharply in recent decades and continues to rise. It is estimated that one in three Germans will have an allergic problem at least once in their lives. Children and adolescents are particularly affected.

"ALLERGY"

An allergy is an excessive reaction of the immune system to a substance that is not normally harmful. Typical symptoms include a skin rash, digestive disorders, itchy eyes and a runny nose through to a life-threatening anaphylactic shock.

Many people are unaware that they have an allergy. Early allergy testing and diagnosis help to prevent further complications such as asthma. In most cases, allergies begin in childhood. Early diagnosis and initiation of treatment is therefore particularly important for parents, not only to alleviate existing symptoms but also to prevent further exacerbations.

Trigger of an allergy

Almost all substances in the environment can trigger allergies. In order to make the correct diagnosis, we carry out various allergy tests on the skin (prick/epicutaneous test) and blood analyses. For an adequately effective treatment of the allergy, it is essential to examine the trigger.
