Conservative measures
Conservative measures for vein treatment
PROCEDURE
Compression therapy
Wearing compression stockings regularly is an effective treatment for vein problems – especially in advanced stages. The support stockings support the venous valves and muscle pumps. Among other things, they prevent blood from flowing back from the depths into the superficial venous system. Support stockings are made to measure in various lengths and thicknesses.
Drug treatment
Medication for varicose veins is available in the form of topical gels, ointments, sprays or oral capsules. They can reduce swelling and alleviate symptoms. Their use is recommended for a limited period of time to accompany treatment.
Physical therapy
Recommended foot massage to relieve symptoms, performed by hand (manual) or with pressure cuffs (mechanical). Kneipp treatments such as cold compresses on the lower legs are also good for the veins. Many walking, barefoot and vein exercises promote blood circulation and support muscle pump function.
