Skin cancer prevention
Modern methods for detecting skin cancer
ROUTINE EXAMINATIONS
Routine skin examinations are preventative procedures that should be included in your personal health plan. The incidence of skin cancer is on the rise. In Germany alone, there are around 250,000 new cases every year. With early treatment, the chances of recovery are very good, so prompt diagnosis and regular preventive measures are essential. Screening for skin cancer should be carried out every year, but at least every two years.
We carry out more than 2,000 skin cancer treatments every year.
When you come to us for a skin cancer screening, we take a lot of time to thoroughly examine your skin from head to toe. This enables us to detect and treat any conspicuous skin changes as quickly as possible.
Visible skin changes
If the birthmark has changed significantly, it may need to be surgically removed. We can perform this on an outpatient basis in our practice. A histological examination of the removed tissue provides certainty that malignant material has been completely removed.
Computer-aided analysis and documentation
In our dermatology practice, we use innovative technology to examine your skin lesions and moles. State-of-the-art camera technology produces high-resolution microscopic images so that suspicious moles can be distinguished from harmless skin changes.
Suspicious skin changes are recorded and analyzed by our dermatologists using a state-of-the-art computer-assisted examination procedure. During routine check-ups, these records are used to identify changes in the skin. This helps to avoid unnecessary incisions.
