Resorbable: The material is completely and naturally broken down by the body.
Slowly absorbable: Degradation takes place over a longer period of time and therefore offers a longer-lasting effect.
Semi-permanent or permanent: These fillers remain permanently in the tissue as the body cannot break them down on its own.
Absorbable fillers include hyaluronic acid and collagen.
These fillers are particularly suitable for smoothing wrinkles, furrows and small imperfections. These fillers can also be used to build up volume and emphasize lips, cheeks and other parts of the face.
Both calcium hydroxyapatite and polylactic acid are considered to be slowly absorbable fillers.
